This is a very serious and complex engineering project. Concrete rings weighing many tonnes will be placed in a huge excavation at a depth of 8 metres.
On 1 December, lorries delivered concrete rings measuring 5 metres in diameter to the pumping station construction site. They will be positioned in the excavation using a high-capacity crane. The heaviest of these elements weighs 15 tonnes. The pumping station will drain rainwater from Jaworzyńska and Grabskiego Streets into the Kaczawa River.
The construction of the pumping station is one of the important elements of the reconstruction of Jaworzyńska Street. It also shows how complex these tasks are. As part of the work on Jaworzyńska Street, 3 km of road, 5.5 km of pavements and 3.3 km of cycle paths will be built. Underground, more than 45 km of various pipes and 19 km of cables will also be laid.
