On Saturday, November 29, BTS Elektros hosted the “Ziemia Milicka” Milicz team. After a fiercely contested match, the Bolesławiec side lost 2–3 (15–25, 19–25, 25–20, 25–23, 6–15).

Jacek Łuczkowski, president of BTS Bolesławiec:

We were just short of happiness. One could even say it was an entertaining spectacle for the fans, because we played as many as five sets. In the first two sets, our players were not warmed up. I am not looking for an excuse here, but the next two sets showed that this was indeed the case. And the tie-break was a lottery.

It is a pity about those first two sets. If our team had been better warmed up and focused and had not fallen 0–2 behind, the course of the match might have been different. We won 3–2 in Milicz, and they won by the same score here. Milicz is on an upward trend, while we are experiencing a minor crisis. But we keep playing; our fighting spirit has not faded.

Krzysztof Mosiądz, BTS Elektros coach and deputy head of BTS Bolesławiec:

Our play fluctuated. We slept through the first two sets, but the third and fourth featured very good play from our team. Every element that should work for us did work: serving, attacking, reception and setting. We thought we had hit our stride in the tie-break. Unfortunately, just as in the first two sets, we slept through the start of the fifth set, and it was then difficult to make up the deficit.

Next week we have a match against Legnica. I hope we will play good volleyball. We have nothing to lose. We must play as we know how and not think that we have to win at all costs. It is difficult to play under pressure from the result. The players become somewhat tense then, and our play does not look the way it should.

Tomasz Włoszczyński, captain of the BTS Elektros team:

Last week’s victory over the strengthened Góra team greatly whetted our appetite. We really wanted to win this match, but our opponents set tough conditions. In the first match in Milicz, which we won, it seemed that apart from a strong serve, our opponents did not have many strengths. Now, in Bolesławiec, we saw that they had greatly improved their coordination and were setting balls to the wings much faster. The first two sets were a complete failure on our part. Before the third, the coach decided to replace as many as four players from the starting lineup, which produced excellent results. The substitutes improved the quality of our play, and we managed to get back into the match. We won the next two sets. In the tie-break, our opponents controlled the course of play from beginning to end. Their strong serving proved decisive in the victory.

We are not giving up; next week we will fight at home against Ikar Legnica. I invite everyone who would like to cheer for our team to the match. Matches against Legnica are always very exciting.

Next week, our volleyball team will once again face another difficult opponent on its home court – Ikar Legnica.

Our team’s coach is Krzysztof Mosiądz.
