“Grace and Gloria” is a colorful yet deeply moving story about two mature women with utterly different temperaments, characters and life experiences. This moving play touches on the difficult subject of passing, while also offering hope and being filled with humor and surprising turns of events.
But since the week is not only about Saturday, we also invite you to join us under the green dome on the other days of the week. For example, through Wednesday inclusive, you can still watch the film “Joe”, directed by David Green and starring Nicolas Cage, Tye Sheridan and Adriene Mishler, at our Poza Nova cinema. Screenings begin at 6:30 p.m.; tickets cost PLN 11.
Meanwhile, starting on Friday, we will show the film “Winter Sleep” on the big screen. Screenings will begin earlier than usual—already at 5:01 p.m., because the film lasts 3 hours and 16 minutes. “Winter Sleep” tells the story of Aydin, a retired actor, and his young wife Nihal, who run a small hotel in central Anatolia. In winter, as snow covers the steppe, the hotel becomes a refuge but also a stage for their relationship. In the film, Cappadocia’s breathtaking landscapes contrast with an intimate portrait of a marriage built on tense, masterful dialogue. We wholeheartedly recommend it!
Among the noteworthy events, it is also worth mentioning another meeting of the Cross-Border University of the Third Age under the green dome, scheduled for Thursday at 11:00 a.m.
On Thursday, we also warmly invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Flowers in Painting”, prepared by adult artists associated with our “Under the Dome” art studio. The opening will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Afirmacja club at 2 Partyzantów Street in Zgorzelec.
And finally, information about a fascinating author meeting organized here by the Municipal Public Library. The youngest readers will meet Małgorzata Żółtaszek on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., the author of children’s books including “How Anitka’s Toys Ran Away,” “Jacuś Got Lost in the Store” and “About Mateuszek, Who Was Afraid of the Dark.”
