The unemployment level has been falling steadily since the beginning of the year. In January, 5,295 people were registered with the PUP; in April, their number fell to 4,825, and in October—to a record-low 4,281.
The unemployment rate in Legnica was 9.6% in September. It is lower in October, but the exact figures will be calculated at the end of November.
Women still make up the majority of those seeking employment—52.2% (2,234). In October, 444 unemployed people found work, 24 began activation internships, and 20 started various training courses.
Among the unemployed, the largest group has lower-secondary or primary education (30.7%), while the smallest proportion has general secondary education (10.4%) or higher education (13.2%).
In September, the unemployment rate in Legnica was 9.6%, in Legnica County—18.6%, in the voivodeship—10.9%, and nationwide—11.5%.
