As part of this investment, a recreational and leisure complex will also be created, providing a beautiful place for relaxation while regulating water management in Bolesławiec. Even before the war, the reservoir was used for recreational purposes. It also served as a retention reservoir collecting water from the „Złoty Potok” forest stream and regulated the hydrological conditions of the forest complex. During World War II, the facility was partially destroyed and was used by the military until the end of the 1970s.
It is worth recalling that the project currently under way involves creating a leisure area, increasing the area’s tourist appeal and—above all—restoring a small-retention facility. The project includes the construction of a water reservoir divided into a swimming section and plant filters (water filtered through a plant-based biosystem, without the use of chemicals).
The site development will include, in addition to the pools, technical, changing-room and sanitary facilities, catering facilities, pedestrian and vehicle routes, a playground, beach-volleyball courts, tennis courts with artificial-turf surfaces, a jetty for anglers, site fencing, lighting and a car park with a minimum of 60 parking spaces.
