On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Tygrys Ogłuszony Domem theatre group invited audiences to see Sławomir Mrożek’s play “Serenada.” The protagonists are hens watched over by a rooster. However, they are threatened by danger. It all happens because of a fox who, disguised as a lover, lures them with the sweet sounds of a serenade played beneath the windows of the henhouse. The rooster tries to drive away the unwelcome guest, but is caught in a trap and pays for it with his life.
The play was prepared in an interesting way. The actors used not only the stage but also the theatre auditorium. The balcony served as the henhouse windows. The fox took a position directly in front of the audience. Particularly impressive was the moment when an actor descended from the balcony to the stage using a ladder. The “individual images” created by rapidly switching the lighting off and on were also interesting.
The cast included: Paulina Aleksandrzak, Ewelina Paukowska, Kinga Pokojowy, Krzysztof Laudański, Grzegorz Roman, and Kamil Stankiewicz. The play was directed by Urszula Frąszczak-Matyjewicz.
