The municipal stage of the Pegazik recitation competition was organized in the hall of the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Kruszyn. Tuesday’s competition was attended by children from primary schools in the rural municipality of Bolesławiec. Students from primary schools in Bożejowice, Brzeźnik, Kraśnik Dolny, Dąbrowa, Kruszyn, Ocice, Trzebień and Żeliszów took part in the recitation contest. The poems recited by the children were judged by Ewa Zbroja and Andrzej Leśniewski. The first places went to Karolina Wantuch from Trzebień and Natalia Brzuchowska from Bożejowice. Paulina Wilczyńska from Żeliszów took second place. Beata Cieśla from Brzeźnik and Tomasz Karaban from Ocice came third.
The following participants received distinctions: Marta Ozga from Kraśnik Dolny, Radosław Powroźnik from Bożejowice, Dawid Wołoch from Kruszyn and Anna Janeczko from Brzeźnik. The participants’ recitation skills were fairly evenly matched. Differences could, however, be noticed in their choice of poems. There were children’s texts such as "The Colorful Cow" and "Glasses", but there were also more serious works, such as "The Source" by John Paul II. In addition to diplomas, congratulations and promotion to the district stage, the winners received book prizes. The prizes included Joan Rowling’s "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", "Tomek on the Black Continent" and "Tomek in the Land of Kangaroos" by Alfred Szklarski, as well as several volumes of "The Chronicles of Narnia" by C. S. Lewis.
