On 17 October, a gala marking the first edition of the “Friendly Poland” program, affiliated with the Polish Chamber of Commerce, was held in Warsaw. Following a months-long certification process, Lubin Rural Commune was awarded the title of “Good Place to Live” (premium home location).
During the audit of the entire commune (the assessment covered good conditions for developing residential investments, meeting everyday needs, the operation of educational institutions, sports and recreation facilities, natural resources, initiatives aimed at improving residents’ quality of life, and sustainable development), the Commune proved to be the best in the country. In addition to unquestionable prestige, the laureate gains the right to install a promotional road sign bearing the words “Laureate of the ‘Friendly Poland’ Program” and a sign naming the thematic certification—in the case of Lubin Rural Commune, “Good Place to Live.”
Irena Rogowska, Mayor of Lubin Rural Commune: “The title and certificate of ‘Friendly Poland,’ as well as the main prize in the ‘Good Place to Live’ category, are an enormous distinction for us—the residents and authorities of Lubin Rural Commune—and an expression of genuine recognition for the ongoing efforts of our entire community to make the place where we live as friendly as possible and encourage everyone to settle in our commune. We feel appreciated and honored—the thorough and objective assessment of Lubin Rural Commune by a professional and independent panel is all the more valuable because it fully confirms that the direction of our efforts is right, and that the significant results of many years of work have been noticed and rewarded even at the national level. In addition to providing enormous satisfaction to the commune’s residents, my colleagues, and me personally, the main prize in the ‘Good Place to Live’ category is also a challenge and an obligation for the future: not to rest on our laurels, but to continue working intensively for the good of our community. Our motto is ‘Lubin Rural Commune—a real home.’ From today, we can confidently add that it is—not only in our opinion—a friendly and good place to live.
