At the Forum, a special performance was prepared for guests invited to mark European Senior Citizens’ Day. The group from the BOK-MCC Contemporary Dance Workshop of instructor Halina Bałacka-Kłak presented the performance “From One Lump of Clay.” Children and young people from the workshops Promyki, Nocturn and Modus told the story of Bolesławiec ceramics through dance over the centuries. The performance showed the creation of Joppe’s famous pot, the wartime period, work in communist-era factories and the ceramics fairs held during the Bolesławiec Ceramics Festival.

The rich costumes—white linen dresses, airy tunics, delicate polka-dot dresses with ruffles and unusual cup costumes—were sewn for the children by Eugenia Janeczek. BOK-MCC employees handled the technical production of the performance: Piotr Gnyszka (sound editing), Waldemar Cieślak and Dorota Berdzik (set design and props), and Leszek Rzepka (lighting). The performance, dedicated to all ceramics producers and employees involved in its production, was greatly enjoyed by the seniors from the city of ceramics.

The seniors sincerely thanked the city representatives and the mayor who attended the meeting, Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska and the BOK-MCC employees for the attention given to the needs of retirees in Bolesławiec.
