– This is a great distinction and motivation for us to continue keeping the chronicle. For 30 years, all the female ensemble members have put their whole hearts into it. We are pleased that it was noticed and distinguished among the 23 chronicles taking part in the competition – says Danuta Kumor, the ensemble’s representative.
The organizers of the “Most Interesting Rural Chronicle 2014” competition were the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and the Lower Silesian Agricultural Advisory Centre in Wrocław. Folk ensembles and rural housewives’ associations from across Lower Silesia took part in the competition. The prize received by the ensemble from Lubin was a new camera.
– The new camera will enable us to document all events related to the ensemble’s activities. Until now, we did not have such an opportunity, so I can imagine how wonderful our chronicle will be now – Danuta Kumor adds jokingly.
The ensemble has been active for more than 30 years and, as its representative says, needs young people who will continue the group’s work. The ensemble’s vigorous development and a tradition continued for 30 years ensure the “Lubin” Folk Ensemble constant successes and places on the podium.
