The event began with a march by seniors from the Sports and Recreation Centre to the Municipal Cultural Centre, where Mayor Rafał Gronicz handed them symbolic keys to the city gates, officially opening the three-day celebrations.
The opening of the “Hat of My Dreams” exhibition and the hobbyists’ exhibition proved particularly interesting.
The Municipal Public Library in Zgorzelec organised computer and Internet classes especially for seniors and also officially opened a permanent library collection. Zgorzelec’s PoZa Cinema invited visitors to a screening of the film “Love Manoeuvres”.
The organisers did not forget that sport is an important part of seniors’ lives. The programme therefore included activities such as Nordic walking, gymnastics under the supervision of professional instructors and the “Healthy Senior Fair” exhibitions.
The main event was the Senior Art Achievement Showcase, during which participants presented their skills and talents.
The jury, consisting of Krystyna Kaczor, Dorota Baranowska, Danuta Serafińska and Bogdan Walczak, assessed the seniors’ impressive competition performances over two days.
