Legnica’s compound archers won six medals, including two golds, at the Polish Senior Archery Championships held in Boguchwała near Rzeszów.
Katarzyna Szafrańska achieved the greatest success. She won two gold medals—individually and in the mixed team event with Jan Wojtas, who added two more medals: silver in the team event and individual bronze. In the final, our mixed team defeated the Marymont Warszawa archers, equaling the national record (151 points out of a possible 160).
In the men’s event, Maciej Łaba became the national runner-up, finishing ahead of his clubmate Jan Wojtas. Legnica athletes also shot their way to silver and bronze medals in the team events. The runner-up team consisted of Jan Wojtas, Jerzy Dzikowski, Krzysztof Gorczyca and Ireneusz Cieślak. Their clubmates Maciej Łaba, Daniel Horbaczewski, Norbert Łuczaj-Osowski and Mariusz Walada took the lower step of the podium. Michał Gomoliszek, meanwhile, finished sixth individually.
