The choir conductor Aleksander Samostrokow invites vocally talented children and young people aged 10–18 to Kamerton choir rehearsals. Sign up for auditions by calling 513 010 945, or come to the auditorium of the new Music School building in November—on Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
“The choir is a great way to learn vocal skills, develop musically, relax, and also enjoy interesting concert trips in Poland and abroad,” the conductor explains.
Kamerton choir concert activities
Every year, the choir takes part in events organized by the Bolesławiec municipality and city, such as: the Star of Kindness, the New Year’s Concert of students of the State Music School of the First Degree and the State Secondary Music School of the Second Degree, integration Christmas-wafer meetings for people with disabilities from Bolesławiec County, the feast day of Bolesławiec’s patron saint, Maria de Mattias, parish and city festivals, Bolesławiec Days, and special concerts. It takes part in religious services and travels every year to the Cecilian Gathering of Choirs of the Diocese of Legnica.
Most significant performances:
- singing at the funeral Mass following the death of John Paul II – 8 April 2005
- a joint performance by the choir and orchestras of the partner cities of Bolesławiec and Česká Lípa to mark the 25th anniversary of the State Music School of the First Degree in Bolesławiec – 6 November 2008
- singing at a funeral Mass following the Smolensk air disaster – 11 April 2010
- integration concerts with the choir of Music School No. 3 from Kirovohrad (Ukraine), at the Polish Church in Kirovohrad (April 2006) and at the Bolesławiec Sanctuary (June 2006).
The choir has performed in Lviv, Vienna, Rome, Siegburg and Brussels, and has received numerous awards:
- 2002 – distinction at the Nationwide Festival of First- and Second-Degree Music School Choirs in Ostrów Wielkopolski
- 2005 – diploma for taking first place in the Bolesławiec Land Choir Review
- 2006 – laureate title and a first-degree silver diploma at the All-Ukrainian Festival of Music School Choirs “Golden Orpheus” in Kirovohrad
- Mayor’s Award for the Kamerton choir for achievements in culture and promoting Bolesławiec
- First place in the diocesan competition dedicated to St. Maria de Mattias (music category)
- 2007 – “Golden Bells of Lubin” at the 4th Lower Silesian Review of First-Degree Music School Choirs
- Mayor’s Award for the Kamerton choir for achievements in culture and promoting Bolesławiec
- Silver Angel at the 8th Lower Silesian Christmas Carol Singing in Świdnica
- 2009 – Silver Medal at the International “Musica Religiosa” Festival in Olomouc (Czech Republic)
- letters of thanks from the mayor and county governor on the occasion of the choir’s 10th anniversary
- Mayor’s Award for the Kamerton choir for achievements in culture and promoting Bolesławiec
- 2011 – first place and a cash prize at the International Religious Song Festival “Cantate Deo” in Rzeszów
- 2012 – second place at the 1st Youth Choir Festival in Chojnów
- Third place at the 18th Nationwide Festival of Christmas Carols and Pastorales in Będzin
- Silver Angel at the Lower Silesian Christmas Carol Singing of First-Degree Music School Choirs in Świdnica
