Wiesława Siuda worked as an independent clerk in the personnel section, dealing with personnel matters concerning soldiers and civilian employees. “There probably isn’t a single person in the brigade who hasn’t had dealings with Mrs. Wiesia,” said Colonel Dariusz Nawrocki, opening the farewell ceremony for the employee, and then added: “After 40 years of working for the military, one can already speak of service. Your contribution to the brigade’s functioning is invaluable. You dealt with matters concerning both soldiers and civilian employees. There were never any complaints about your work; you passed every inspection without any problems. Thank you for your solid and honest work throughout all these years. I wish you health and success in carrying out your future plans.”

A genuine crowd of soldiers and civilian employees gathered in the Hall of Tradition that day. They included Mrs. Siuda’s direct colleagues, current and former superiors, as well as employees of the 43rd Military Economic Branch, the 10BKPanc Club and the garrison library.

Major Sławomir Płomiński, former deputy head of the personnel section, said farewell to her on behalf of the section: “On behalf of the first brigade section, all civilian employees of the 10BKPanc and the 43rd Military Economic Branch, as well as on my own behalf and that of the permanent head of the section, I have the honour of thanking you for 40 years of professional work at unit 2707 in Żagań and, following its transformation, at the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów. In summing up your career, I would like you to take into account, in addition to hard work, anniversaries, promotions, joyful and sad moments, other factors as well. One such factor is the gratitude of all those whom you helped by sharing your knowledge and experience over four decades. You experienced many different moments and upheavals together with our brigade. Strategies, goals and concepts changed, but regardless of what was happening around you, one basic principle was always most important to you: honesty and reliability at work. Dear Mrs. Wiesia, thank you for these wonderful years, your dedication and commitment, loyalty and the effort you put into working in our section. I also hope that you will not forget us and that, like all of us, you will remember the time spent here fondly.”

These words, the presence of so many people, bouquets of flowers and farewell gifts made Mrs. Wiesia unable to hold back tears of emotion. “Thank you for working together. I worked wonderfully here and I will never forget you. Thank you to my superiors and colleagues, female and male, soldiers, civilian employees, the employees of the Military Economic Branch and everyone I had the opportunity to work with.”

The ceremony concluded with group commemorative photographs with the brigade commander, as well as photographs with the section’s colleagues.
