A court in Bolesławiec has decided to remand four men in custody for three months. They allegedly tried to extort a ransom in exchange for returning a car.
On Tuesday, at one of the entertainment venues in Bolesławiec, four perpetrators attacked a man who was at the venue, beat him and, threatening him with a knife, took his VW Passat passenger car. They demanded a ransom for returning the vehicle. The victim notified the police.
The men were arrested that same day in Jelenia Góra while collecting money for the stolen car. The men, aged 30–40, had previously been convicted of robberies and other criminal offenses. The stolen vehicle was recovered.
