– This recreation area, which is now being built and whose construction will be completed in a few weeks, still in October – said Marcin Zawiła, President of Jelenia Góra, and Marian Szcześniak, Vice President of Jeleniogórska Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa – is the result of cooperation and co-financing of an investment needed by the residents of Jelenia Góra.

– The equipment to be installed here has not been used in the city so far, and it will be used by both five-year-olds and eighty-year-olds – President Szcześniak added.
There will be 10 stations for active fitness recreation here, some of them available specifically for children, the so-called sky skateboards, a 5.5-metre tower for rope climbing, as well as game tables, a table-tennis table and more.

– It is important to us – the President stated – that this facility is being built through close cooperation between the Cooperative and the City. This required overcoming certain formal barriers, but we wanted to emphasize once again that Zabobrze is an integral part of Jelenia Góra, while the Zabobrze III estate has not had similar equipment until now. Right next to it, we are reserving space for the possible construction of a nursery with a kindergarten, because this part of the city does not yet have such a facility, and many young people live here.

– In spring, a joint committee of the City and the Cooperative was established – the President added – and it created a list of 30 tasks that, from the cooperative members’ point of view, are important for Zabobrze. Schedules for their implementation over the coming years were established, and I must admit that 14 of these tasks have already been completed or work on them is nearing completion. The schedules we set ourselves are being fully met. And this area is the most impressive culmination of this year’s cycle of construction projects in the estate.

The area was initially valued at PLN 600,000, with the City and the Cooperative each set to finance half of the investment. The emergence of high groundwater levels complicated the construction and increased costs by almost PLN 100,000, but drainage work was carried out to such a depth that there should be no problems during operation.
