Everyone was pleasantly surprised by the high turnout, as the preschoolers invited their entire families to join in the fun. The festival took place at the MOSiR Water and Sports Centre on Spacerowa Street in Bolesławiec.
The institution is implementing the “Preschool Friendly to Nutrition and Physical Activity” programme as part of the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme, under the “Keep the Balance” project. Therefore, instead of traditional festival dishes, the tables featured fruit, vegetable salads, natural juices, organic bread, and cakes and cookies baked with organic products. The parents brought the fruit and vegetables directly from their own gardens.
The children took part in many games and sports competitions, from playing football to tug-of-war. Outdoor aerobics proved very popular. Importantly, in most of the competitions, the children participated together with their parents.
At the end of the sporting challenges, all the preschoolers who had taken part in the festival received commemorative medals.
Another attraction was a creatively arranged green trail, which enabled festival participants to identify the herbs gathered there using all their senses. During the tour, they could also learn about the special properties of these plants.
The festival ended in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, as shown by the numerous thanks and the children’s priceless smiles.
