Izabela Tkaczyk took fifth place in this year’s Polish Championships in the 100 m freestyle and 200 m individual medley. She was short of the bronze medal by 0.04 s and 0.10 s, respectively.

“Iza has worked hard for this all year, training in the morning and afternoon. In every sport, talent alone is not enough. It must be backed by tremendous training effort and countless sacrifices. Wiktor and I are young coaches, and I do not hide the fact that we are proud of this success,” said coach Krzysztof Wróbel.

The success is all the greater because, apart from Iza, only three female athletes from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship qualified for the national team, all of them from Wrocław.

“This is a tremendous success for swimming in Bolesławiec. Over the two years of our activity, following the reorganisation of training, we really have something to be proud of. Agata Knapik is hot on Iza’s heels, although she has had some health problems this year. Our youngest male and female swimmers are also already achieving success, for now at the provincial level. I am convinced that next year our athletes will give us many reasons to be happy. This would not be possible without the support of the Bolesławiec Municipal Commune and the parents, who bear a considerable share of the costs of training and trips to competitions. I thank them for that,” said UKS Oxpress president Dariusz Łomański.
