It was organized by the Legnica Municipal Office together with the Municipal Council of Public Benefit Activity. The meeting was attended by Dorota Purgal, deputy mayor of Legnica.
The conference was preceded by training on open calls for proposals for co-financing organizations’ own contributions, led by Andrzej Stachowiak from the Department of Social Affairs of the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Using several selected examples, he discussed the aspects of the call announcement that were most important from the organizations’ perspective. At the end, he answered participants’ questions and addressed their concerns regarding the calls and the procedure for awarding grants under Article 19a of the Act on Public Benefit Activity and Volunteerism.
One of the conference’s main objectives was to consult on the draft “Programme for Cooperation between the Municipality of Legnica and Entities Conducting Public Benefit Activity in 2015”. The forum participants approved all the proposals developed by the Municipal Council of Public Benefit Activity.
The NGO representatives also discussed, among other things, the premises-related problems faced by Legnica organizations and the calls planned by the municipality for the following year. The meeting was summarized by Adam Sikorski, deputy director of the Education, Culture and Sport Department of the Municipal Office, who encouraged stronger, mutually beneficial and constructive cooperation between the city and non-governmental organizations, not only in financial terms.
