The incident took place at around 4:00 a.m. during the night of September 4–5 this year, near garages on KEN Street in Lubin. Three perpetrators brutally beat and kicked a 24-year-old woman and threatened to kill her as they attempted to rape her. Two of them were arrested. 24-year-old Przemysław K. was remanded in custody for three months at the prosecutor’s request. 32-year-old Arkadiusz Ch. was taken to a psychiatric hospital because he was found to have a mental illness. Both suspects are half-brothers and live in one of the villages near Lubin. The third perpetrator is still being sought, but the police know his identity.

A man from a nearby apartment block heard that someone was being beaten near the garages. He immediately notified the police. At the scene, officers found a partially undressed and severely beaten woman, a resident of a locality near Lubin. She suffered serious bodily injuries, including a brain contusion and a fractured orbital bone. The victim was taken to hospital.

On Friday, September 5, K. and Ch. were charged with attempting to commit gang rape. The men did not plead guilty. K. was remanded in custody. He faces up to 15 years in prison.

The investigation is ongoing; we will return to the case.
