6 September a number of characters from Henryk Sienkiewicz’s immortal “Trilogy” will appear in Town Hall Square. Excerpts will be read by headteachers of schools and directors of cultural institutions, as well as heads of municipal companies.
That is the main part of the event. But after 3:00 p.m., there will be a moment when anyone will be able to take on the text on stage. “That is why we encourage everyone to come to Town Hall Square in Jelenia Góra with a chosen, favourite excerpt of a description or dialogue,” say the organizers. “We invite you to take part in the nationwide event—not only to listen to the words of beautiful Helena, Bohun, Oleńka and Kmicic, but also to take on the role of any favourite character you choose.”
The reading will be led by the rebellious Kiemlicz Brothers—in this role, actors from the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Theatre: Bogusław Kudłek and Piotr Konieczyński. Zagłoba’s belly will be fashioned, anyone interested will be able to take part in the “With Fire and Sword” game, and the whole event will be enriched by a combat display from the Wolna Kompania Sarmacka.
