Tomek Wachnowski wrote a very good anthem for Gliniada, held as part of the Ceramics Festival. A fragment of the song “We Are All Made of the Same Clay” was presented by Marek Sierocki on today’s Teleexpress.

Wachnowski is a musician, poet, composer and author of five albums. His latest album, “People Like to Have” (2013), contains eleven songs. Wachnowski was joined on the album by Miłosz Wośko, a pianist and producer, Maciej Szczyciński on bass, and Wojtek Sobura on drums, with whom Tomek had performed on stage on numerous occasions. For the first time in the artist’s career, the album featured a female voice—in three songs, Anna Treter provided the vocals.

The Bolesławiec native took part in the Festival of Polish Song in Opole three times. In 1995 and 1996, he performed in the “Land of Gentleness” concerts, and in 1999 he appeared in the “Premieres” concert. He performed the composition “It Would Be Nice” then. The song was enthusiastically received by the Opole audience and was also appreciated by the judges. In a vote by local television stations, it took second place, right after Ryszard Rynkowski.

Another important event in Tomek Wachnowski’s career was preparing the theme song for the film “Asterix and Obelix Versus Caesar.” It is worth noting that the artist was selected from among many Polish vocalists—a decision made by the song’s composer himself, Jean Jacques Goldman.
