BKS footballers began their IV-league campaign in impressive fashion. On Saturday, 16 August, the Bolesławiec team played their first-round match against newcomers Włókniarz Mirsk. The opening minutes of the away match did not suggest that BKS’s victory would be so emphatic, as Włókniarz had two chances to take the lead. However, neither was converted. First, Rafał Mazur saved Jarosław Wichowski’s shot. A few minutes later, Szymon Kozołubski’s effort went just wide.
As time passed, BKS gained an increasing advantage and created more and more dangerous chances. First, Marek Dudka tested the home goalkeeper’s alertness with a shot from outside the penalty area. Shortly afterwards, Emmanuel Ohagwu narrowly missed. In the 36th minute, BKS scored. Following an attack down the left side, Piotr Dzięgleski played the ball into the penalty area. Marcin Kraśnicki reached it and made no mistake. A minute later, it could have been 2:0, but the popular “Dzięgiel”, in a good position with only the goalkeeper in front of him, chose not to shoot and instead tried to pass back to Marcin Kraśnicki. Unfortunately, the pass was behind him.
BKS extended their lead to 2:0 in the 44th minute by taking advantage of a free kick. Jacek Bochnia produced a superb 25-metre shot under the crossbar. The home goalkeeper could only watch the ball. Just when it seemed that the first half would end with BKS two goals ahead, the hosts launched a counterattack and scored a goal to reduce the deficit. Szymon Morzecki was entered on the scoresheet.Szymon Morzecki.
In the second half, BKS completely dominated their opponents. Their advantage was very clear, both in terms of fitness and technique. BKS circulated the ball calmly and punished their opponents. In the 55th minute, Piotr Dzięgleski scored with a cross. The ball simply went over the goalkeeper and into the net.
In the 61st minute, Jakub Kosior took advantage of a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper and, with a precise shot past him, made it 4:1 to BKS. Piotr Dzięgleski set the final score in the 65th minute. The BKS player took advantage of Marek Dudka’s pass from a free kick, completely surprising the defenders from Mirsk, who expected a direct shot from the set piece.
