Police officers from the Jelenia Góra traffic unit, together with uniformed officers from neighboring counties, conducted the preventive “Together Across Counties” operation on August 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Particular attention was paid to the main roads of Jelenia Góra County. Officers checked drivers’ sobriety and, among other things, the technical condition of their vehicles.

The results are not encouraging: police officers retained the registration certificates of 16 vehicles and issued 101 penalty tickets—47 for exceeding the speed limit and 23 for failing to use seat belts. Three drivers also had their driving licences taken away.

What is more, officers also caught three drunk drivers. The operation is intended to improve the safety of road users.
