The incident occurred late on Saturday evening. Adults were swimming in Kozłów at a place where swimming is prohibited. Some of them were probably under the influence of alcohol. At one point, the swimmers noticed that their friend was floating face down on the water. They tried to rescue him and pull him to the shore. Unfortunately, the body sank underwater.
The people formed a line and, walking through the water, tried to feel the bottom with their feet. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful. It was only a diver from a special unit in Legnica who managed to find the drowning victim’s body.
The deceased man was a resident of Szprotawa. He was 64 years old.
