At the beginning of July, we reported that although the league volleyball season will not begin until autumn, the officials of the Bolesławiec Volleyball Association are not sitting idle. It was already known then that our volleyball team would be strengthened. Now we can provide specifics. One of the new recruits is a young setter (the previous BTS player in this position stopped attending training for personal reasons) Artur Sławnikowski, who played in the Young PlusLiga, stood out as a representative of Effector Kielce, and was named the most valuable player of the match against Skra Bełchatów (most valuable player).

“He is a young, promising and unspoiled volleyball player,” praises the new recruit Jacek Łuczkowski, president of the Bolesławiec Volleyball Association. “He is very experienced in volleyball and approaches the game very professionally,” he adds. What is more, the 19-year-old will move permanently to Bolesławiec. The club is also currently in talks with two other setters, who would compete with Sławnikowski for a place in the lineup.

The volleyball team will also include Pieńsk native Patryk Dominiczak (a middle blocker), particularly suited to the role because… he is 199 cm tall.

The third reinforcement will be Łukasz Mesjasz, who began his volleyball career in Zawidów and later played for a club from Goerlitz. “His advantage is a very powerful serve,” emphasizes the BTS president.

The core of the team, Jacek Łuczkowski stresses, will still consist of players from Bolesławiec. The title sponsor remains the Bolesławiec-based company Elektros, which has cooperated with our volleyball team almost from the very beginning. In the next season, the BTS senior team will be called BTS Elektros.

Agreement with TOP getting closer

Soon, all men’s volleyball in Bolesławiec (youth and senior sections) is to come under the BTS umbrella, while the women’s section will remain with TOP. “Both clubs concluded that this solution would be best,” says Jacek Łuczkowski.

Until December 31 of this year, the cadets will play under the name TOP-BTS, after which they will come under the Association’s wing (but their coach will still be Michał Sobczyszyn). Jacek Łuczkowski wants the Bolesławiec Volleyball Association to oversee the youth, cadet, junior and senior teams from the 2015/2016 season. “This has been our intention from the very beginning. For volleyball to develop dynamically in this city, continuity in training must be maintained,” adds the BTS president.
