Agora Bookshop and the Bolesławiec City Office invite you to a meeting with Jan Bujak, the author of the “Galicians and Serbs” book series, which discusses, among other things, the emigration of Poles to Bosnia (we reported on the tremendous work carried out by a resident of our county in creating this series in the article Balkan Tea Party at II LO). The meeting will take place on Friday, 25 July, in the Councillors’ Hall (Bolesławiec Town Hall). It begins at 6:00 p.m.. Admission is free.

Jan Bujak was born on 22 September 1944 in Bosnia. After arriving in Lower Silesia, he lived in Gościszów. He graduated from the Agricultural Technical School in Chojnów, the Teacher Training College and the Agricultural Academy in Wrocław, as well as postgraduate studies at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw.

He began his teaching career at an agricultural school in Olszyna Lubańska, and later taught in Rakowice Wielkie and Jelenia Góra. He served as a methodological adviser, secondary-school principal and senior inspector. As a coach, he led volleyball teams at club and school level.

He received numerous decorations and distinctions for his teaching work and community involvement. He is the founder and head of the Elka-Bujak Driver Training Centre, which received accreditation from the Lower Silesian Superintendent of Education.
