We have written repeatedly in our pages about Agnieszka Sobolewska, a Bolesławiec resident suffering from a malignant brain tumor. On May 22 this year, the woman lost her battle with the disease. She was 32 years old. As we could read on the website of Stowarzyszenie Ziemia Bolesławiecka, “the direct cause of death was acute respiratory and circulatory failure and pneumonia.”
Following this information—among other places, on our forum—some residents of our county asked what would happen to the money they had paid toward the deceased woman’s treatment. The board of Stowarzyszenie Ziemia Bolesławiecka published a letter on its website concerning this matter:
We regret to inform you that the money paid into our bank account “For Agnieszka Sobolewska’s treatment” cannot be used for its intended purpose because Mrs. Agnieszka Sobolewska died on May 22, 2014. In this situation, Stowarzyszenie Ziemia Bolesławiecka proposes that the collected funds not used for the stated purpose be placed in bank deposits for Mrs. Agnieszka Sobolewska’s minor children:
- Cyprian Sobolewski, born October 1, 2004.
- Eliza Sobolewska, born April 26, 2012.
These deposits, together with interest, could be withdrawn after each child reaches the age of 18.
If you do not accept this proposal, the amount paid will be returned in full upon a written request submitted to Stowarzyszenie Ziemia Bolesławiecka by July 31, 2014. The request should state the amount paid (if possible, also the date of payment), as well as the name (first and last name), address, and bank account number to which the amount should be returned.
If Stowarzyszenie Ziemia Bolesławiecka does not receive your request by July 31, 2014, the money collected “For Agnieszka Sobolewska’s treatment” will be placed in bank deposits for her children (we will inform you of the final amount transferred to the children after July 31, 2014).
Best regards
