Five-year-old Julia Piaseczna received Supreme Gold, the highest award, at the 44th Pentel International Children’s Art Contest for her work “Cats”.
The other winners are: ten-year-old Karolina Grabas, who received the Pentel Award; the gold medal went to seven-year-old Hanna Kozioł; eight-year-old Karolina Guzowska and ten-year-old Marta Kozłowska won silver. Eleven-year-old Ida Sałek received bronze.
The competition is organised by the Japan Foundation for the Promotion of Art in cooperation with Pentel, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Yomiuri Shimbun, the Japan Federation of Art Design, and the Japanese Society for Art Education.
A total of 12,709 children from around the world entered this year’s international competition. Poland submitted 903 works, of which only 127 drawings received awards.
The six winners from Bolesławiec will be specially honoured during the next session of the City Council, on 25 June at the Town Hall.
