In mid-April, we reported that a female swan was incubating eggs at the pond on Bankowa Street in Bolesławiec. Her mate was accompanying her. Unfortunately, the pair chose a spot almost right beside the park walkway, which attracted considerable attention from passers-by, particularly children attending nearby schools. Excessive interest was not good for the female swan, so municipal officials asked people not to approach the temporary fence in order not to disturb the swans.

Today, the happy parents were swimming in the pond with their four offspring.

The swans have become a permanent part of this section of the cityscape. In fact, for years—with short breaks, since they are migratory birds—they have been an inseparable element of Bolesławiec’s Planty. This pair arrived here two years ago, and it appears to have acclimatized to our city.
