Training for 66 reservists took place from May 5 to 14. Classes were held under the watchful eye of instructors from the logistics battalion, where the largest number of reservists—33—received training, as well as from the anti-aircraft squadron, engineer company, 1st and 2nd tank battalions, self-propelled artillery squadron and mechanized battalion. There, by taking part in specialist and combat training for subunits, the soldiers had an opportunity to refresh their knowledge in line with the positions they held.
During the first days, theoretical classes were held as part of training courses on such topics as national, NATO and EU classified-information protection systems, financial training, and preparation in accident prevention during exercises and training.
During these several days, the soldiers also improved their knowledge of general warning and alarm signals, as well as their ability to use individual protective equipment against contamination (ISOPS). On May 12, they tested their shooting skills at the Fire Training Ground (PCO). Later that same day, in the Traditions Hall, one of the soldiers, reserve private Kamil Hodowany, took the military oath.
On Wednesday, May 14, the short-term training for reservists concluded. In addition to the training participants, those present on the parade ground included the acting commander of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade, Colonel Dariusz Nawrocki, Major Jacek Gaszak, acting head of the brigade’s training department, as well as the training officer, Major Adam Wasilijew, and Lieutenant Rafał Romanowski, acting brigade welfare officer.
After congratulating the reservists on completing their training, the commander presented letters of congratulations to the soldiers who achieved the best results. “I hope that the training you have just completed refreshed your knowledge, that you recalled the important things, and that you are ready to carry out tasks with the 10th Brigade,” said Colonel Nawrocki. “The results you achieved and the assessments from the subunit commanders show that you will handle things excellently. Congratulations on completing the training, and thank you for the effort and discipline you demonstrated during it. Until our next meeting.”
