Alicja Łacina won an award in the 3rd Voivodeship Art Competition “The Art of Taste – Artistic Cuisine.” The post-competition exhibition in Wrocław, at the MDK Śródmieście Art Gallery, also features works by Katarzyna Chojnicka, Patrycja Pokładek and Julia Drzewiecka. The exhibition can be viewed until 30 May at 5 Dubois Street in Wrocław.
In their works, the competition participants addressed the theme of taste sensations through the language of visual art. The competition received 420 entries from 68 schools, educational institutions and art studios. The organizers selected 215 works for the post-competition exhibition; the appointed jury awarded 20 works by young artists and gave honorable mentions to 23. The Department of Education in Wrocław is a co-organizer of the competition.
Among those receiving honorable mentions in the 21st National Art Competition from the series “The Earth Is One – Lively, Airborne, Elusive... the Colorful World of Insects” were Katarzyna Chojnicka, Iga Kędzierska and Alicja Łacina. The competition received 1,077 entries, of which the jury selected 295 for the post-competition exhibition at the MDK Śródmieście Art Gallery. In various categories, 41 works received awards and 56 received honorable mentions.
