Bolesławiec’s team began the first half with bold attacks on Pogoń’s goal. In the 5th minute, Łukasz Rudyk had a chance to score. His shot from an acute angle was off target, however. In the 11th minute, Mateusz Mucha passed to Radek Pietkiewicz, who boldly moved towards the visitors’ goal with the ball. He was eventually fouled, and the referee awarded a penalty. Paweł Rissmann converted the penalty, shooting into the far right corner of Pogoń’s goal. Two minutes later, BKS scored another goal. This time, Jacek Jasiński got his name on the scoresheet. The visitors’ goalkeeper managed to touch the ball, but it bounced off the post and went into the net. After this attack, the visitors set about making up the deficit. BKS fell back into defence and played on the counterattack. In the 29th minute, Bolesławiec’s team had a chance to extend their lead. Radek Pietkiewicz’s shot was unfortunately blocked by a defender. Piotr Haluch, Józef Pietrzak and Łukasz Rudyk all hit the visitors’ goal accurately. The score did not change before the break.
In the second half, BKS defended while the visitors attacked. Our players created a dangerous opportunity in the 50th minute. Łukasz Rudyk played the ball into the penalty area to Radek Pietkiewicz, but he was just unable to reach it in time. In the 56th minute, a Pogoń player narrowly missed when taking a free kick. The visitors’ pressure paid off in the 66th minute. Following an error by Adrian Popek, the opponents won possession and scored a goal to bring the game back within reach. From that moment, BKS’s play became very nervous. There were many mistakes and lost balls. In the 71st minute, BKS goalkeeper Marek Przykłota made a good intervention. The Bolesławiec goalkeeper saved his team from conceding several more times. Towards the end of the match, Bolesławiec’s team also had several chances to score a third goal. The best opportunity—one-on-one with the goalkeeper—was wasted by Paweł Rissmann, who failed to hit the target from close range. Ultimately, BKS defeated Pogoń Oleśnica 2–1.
Saturday’s match was played in difficult conditions. The pitch was frozen and slippery at the same time. Despite this, several BKS players had very successful games. Piotr Haluch, Łukasz Rudyk, Radosław Pietkiewicz, who won the penalty, and goalkeeper Marek Przykłota all performed well in the match.
