The authorities of Bolesławiec are promoting knowledge about Poland among the Polish community in Brazil. The City Office prepared and sent Polish books, textbooks and materials promoting Bolesławiec to Brazil. In August, the City Council commemorated the 130th anniversary of Polish emigration to Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil in a special statement.
The interest of the Bolesławiec authorities in the Polish community in Brazil is the result of the efforts of Krzysztof Syrycki. He is a resident of Łaziska and studies history at the University of Wrocław. For two years, he has been interested in the Portuguese language and the life of the Polish community in Brazil.
