On the eve of the 87th anniversary of Poland regaining independence, the District Office organized a ceremony. The event took place at the Stary Theatre. Bolesławiec County Head Krzysztof Konopka presented decorations to the veterans. The Pro Memoria Medals were awarded to: Lieutenant Colonel Antoni Świerzewski, Lieutenant Colonel Edward Olkiewicz, Major Zbigniew Sońta, Lieutenant Kazimierz Konopka, Lieutenant Władysław Hołub and Lieutenant Leszek Mikietyński.
The Crosses of Siberian Exiles were awarded to: Major Stanisław Krasowski, Second Lieutenant Maria Dawidowicz, Wanda Cecylia Grobelniak, Second Lieutenant Adolf Emiliańczyk, Second Lieutenant Jan Jachimiuk, Wanda Fudała, Henryk Franciszek Głowacki, Aleksander Grybuś, Danuta Gradkowska, Helena Maria Hewak, Irena Kamińska, Zofia Kmita, Janina Knysz, Helena Danuta Kowal, Tadeusz Korolski, Genowefa Irena Kosche, Helena Kruglik, Teresa Litwinowicz, Franciszka Modl, Stanisław Alojzy Morawski, Władysław Eligiusz Nowicki, Jadwiga Radwańska, Krystyna Helena Ratajska, Wanda Rozwadowska, Zofia Strawska, Maria Struk, Jadwiga Szczerbińska, Marian Tomczyk, Zdzisław Wątruch, Helena Zelisko and Teresa Musik. During the ceremony, the audience also watched an artistic interpretation of historical events prepared by the Youth Cultural Centre.
