On Saturday and Sunday, classes with actress and cultural studies specialist Barbara Ciemięga will begin at 11:00. Registration is available in Orzeł from Monday to Friday (17–21 March), from 8:00 to 16:00, or by telephone at 75-645-35-98.

The idea of the workshops is to work with the voice and body: opening the voice and becoming accustomed to its natural sound, discovering one’s own abilities and getting to know the extraordinary instrument residing in each person’s body. The classes are intended for people interested in personal development and exploring their own voice, both those who are vocally active and those convinced that they cannot sing.

The workshop programme includes a range of vocal exercises, as well as learning traditional folk songs from various parts of the world (Polish, Ukrainian, Georgian, African, Romani and Corsican). Work with the voice will involve combining elements of physical training, including paratheatrical exercises, with vocal and breathing exercises that release the voice, work with the imagination and vocal improvisation. This method helps reduce blockages in the body and psyche, while discovering one’s vocal abilities through play.

The workshops focus primarily on the process rather than achieving specific results. Above all, they serve individual exploration, getting to know oneself and meeting another person through the voice, without judging one another.
