All this was thanks to the Head of Gmina Andrzej Dutkowski, who organized a special meeting specifically for the village heads. Gmina Bolesławiec consists of 29 village administrative districts, differing in terms of area and population. Despite this diversity, their common denominator is village heads committed to village life, who support the Head of Gmina through their activities.
“I appreciate your work,” Andrzej Dutkowski said during the meeting. “It is difficult to confine it to specific time frames, because each of you is open to the needs and problems of the residents of your localities. And for this work, I would like to sincerely thank you today.”
The following also joined in extending their wishes: Chairman of the Gmina Council Bogusław Uziej, Deputy Head of Gmina Roman Jaworski, Gmina Secretary Iwona Przybylska and Gmina Treasurer Franciszek Popek.
The many changes that took place in the villages of Gmina Bolesławiec on the initiative of the village heads were perfectly illustrated by a short presentation shown during the meeting. It summarized activities and investments carried out in the gmina in 2011–2013 using the village fund. And the list is truly long. It included colorful and safe playgrounds, sports fields created with active leisure in mind, and barbecue areas that became meeting places for the local community. At the residents’ initiative, care was also taken to improve the appearance of the villages by revitalizing the park in Nowe Jaroszowice and Kruszyn, or by tidying the area around the monument and roadside cross in Bożejowice-Rakowice. In total, expenditure under the fund in 2013 amounted to nearly PLN 400,000.
After the official part, it was time for small gifts—the Head of Gmina and the Chairman of the Gmina Council presented the village heads with hand-painted mugs, informational materials and Super Village Head certificates. The latter were awarded on behalf of the gmina authorities and the residents of the individual localities. There was also a sweet touch in the form of a cake bearing the coat of arms of Gmina Bolesławiec.
The meeting was also an opportunity for the village heads to discuss with Head of Gmina Andrzej Dutkowski their further plans for the year already underway.
