Following an open call for tenders for the implementation of health programmes in the Municipality of Bolesławiec in 2014, an agreement was signed with the “Stomadent” Medical Centre in Bolesławiec to implement the “Screening tests – prevention of breast diseases in women” programme. The city budget for 2014 allocated funds amounting to PLN 31,000.
The programme will include:
- breast mammography together with instruction on breast self-examination
- a description of the mammogram
- breast ultrasound.
The programme is intended for women aged 40 to 50 and women over 69, residing within the city of Bolesławiec.
The tests will be performed at the “Stomadent” Medical Centre at 21 Dolne Młyny Street in Bolesławiec. Patients may arrange appointments for individual tests in person or by telephone at 75 734 68 68 – from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The tests will be performed upon presentation of an identity document confirming the patient’s age, sex and place of residence, as well as a doctor’s recommendation (when a repeat test is required on medical advice).
The programme does not cover people who in 2013 underwent diagnostic tests financed by the Municipality of Bolesławiec as part of breast disease prevention, except where a repeat test is required on medical advice.
