A mammogram (breast X-ray) is the most effective method of detecting early signs of breast cancer. Soon, this examination will once again be available in the Fado Centrum Usług Medycznych mammography bus, belonging to the Lux Med group, which 13 March will visit Nowogrodziec (car park by the City Hall, 1 Rynek Street), and 14 March – Osiecznica (car park by the Municipal Office, 43 Lubańska Street).

International Women’s Day is approaching. It is a good opportunity to have an examination! Find out whether your wife, mother and sister take part in preventive breast examinations!

Women aged 50 to 69 are entitled to a free examination as part of the Population-Based Programme for the Early Detection of Breast Cancer, funded by the NFZ. A mammogram takes only a few minutes and involves taking four X-ray images—two views of each breast. There is no need to be afraid of the examination, as the radiation emitted is no greater than that from a dental X-ray. It makes it possible to identify and detect so-called asymptomatic changes (lumps and other breast abnormalities) at a very early stage of development—when they cannot be felt by the woman or a doctor, which significantly increases the chance of recovery.

Fado Centrum Usług Medycznych asks patients to register in advance by telephone or via the website. The Call Center is open seven days a week: 586662 444, 801080 007.
