The task for competition participants is to write an essay, feature article or argumentative essay referring to Aleksander Kamiński’s book “Kamienie na szaniec” and/or its film adaptation directed by Robert Gliński, on one of the following topics:
- What should guide us today – the heart or reason?
- How do circumstances change our attitudes – who would you be in 1943?
The aim of the competition is to record the observations and feelings of young people living in a free Poland toward the history of their peers from 1943, whose dreams, sacrifice and courage were described in Aleksander Kamiński’s “Kamienie na szaniec”.
Competition entries may be sent by the end of April to esej@nck.pl. The prize in the competition is publication of the work in the book collection “A Collective Portrait of Young Poles”, which will be published by the National Centre for Culture. The rules and entry form are available on the “Kamienie na szaniec” film website.
The premiere of “Kamienie na szaniec” is on 7 March at Forum Cinema.
