The Indoor Football Tournament for Companies and Workplaces for the Mayor of Nowogrodziec’s Cup was held on February 9 at the sports hall next to the Adam Mickiewicz Gymnasium. Five companies from the municipality and soldiers from Bolesławiec took part in the competition.
In the match for third place, Novoferm Door Wykroty lost 1–5 to Armada Nowogrodziec. The final was contested by Cosmos Milików and the Bolesławiec Military Unit. The soldiers’ team defeated its rivals 2–0. The winning team consisted of: Sławomir Tkacz, Daniel Kuczyński, Dawid Górski, Piotr Turek, Michał Cieślak, Krzysztof Fekieta, Daniel Mandżak, Tomasz Kargul, Mateusz Puławski and Sebastian Tkacz.
All the teams received cups and commemorative diplomas from the mayor of Nowogrodziec, Robert Relich. In addition, all the teams were presented with sports equipment (balls), gadgets and small gifts.
The tournament’s best player was Przemysław Borny of Cosmos Milików. Tomasz Kargul of the Military Unit was named best goalkeeper, while Michał Nowak of Nowogrodziec’s Armada was the top scorer.
A dance group from the hip-hop section operating at the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Nowogrodziec, which organized the competition, added to the event with its performance. More information and photos are available on the GCKiS Facebook profile.
