The Orzeł Cultural Integration Centre is adapted for film screenings and can also serve many other functions (a theatre, dance, conference or concert hall). The cinema has 125 seats and an extensive stage. The building has a café. Orzeł is also equipped with two studios: film and photography.
The adaptation of the former cinema for the Orzeł Cultural Integration Centre began in 2009. The project was co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Regional Operational Programme for the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The total value of the project was PLN 5,416,048.32; the amount of funding was PLN 2,664,626.09.
Programme of activities at CIK Orzeł
- 30 January, 13:00 official opening (admission by invitation only); 19:00 opening of the photography exhibition “Unique places in my town” – award ceremony in the competition, presentation of the winning entries and those accepted for the exhibition (free admission)
- 31 January, 18:00 and 20:00 premiere screenings of the film “Dog”, directed by Przemek Filipowicz, as well as screenings of Filip Rudnicki’s films “Misery” and “Hard as Stalin”, and Przemek Filipowicz’s “The Trial” (invitations available at the Forum cinema box office from Monday, 27 January)
- 1 February, 8:00 hip-hop concert by Skorup and Bu; before the concert, music videos and “making-of” materials will be shown. DJ HOPBEAT will perform as the support act (ticketed event, admission PLN 20. Tickets available at the Forum cinema box office)
- 3 February, 10:00 and 11:00 “Awakening” – a film screening combined with a talk. The film was made by students of GS No. 2 as part of the “Prevention and Passions” project (free admission)
- 4 February, 16:30 Nativity play “Where Is Bethlehem” – a performance prepared by students of GS No. 2. The play presents the realities of the modern world: the superficiality of our experiences and the secularisation of Christmas, during which the essence of the holiday is lost in the shadow of tradition – accepting the truth about the birth of God-Man and His teaching of mercy (free admission)
- 8 February, 18:00 Tango Argentino – the final meeting as part of the project. A concert by a German band and a dance performance by an Argentine couple (closed event, for project participants only)
- 11 February, 10:00 “Pegazik” Recitation Competition for students in grades 4–6 of primary schools, municipal qualifiers
- 14 February, 15:00 “Heart Attack” – a Valentine’s Day happening: photography and multimedia activities; at 18:00, a concert by the band “Poeticon”

New studios at Orzeł
Two new studios will be established at the Orzeł Cultural Integration Centre. From Monday, 20 January, registration is open for the theatre and photography studios.
Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury-Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki is accepting applications for Mariusz Laudański’s studio. Classes will be free of charge and intended for people over 12: teenagers and adults. Places are limited.
Registration is available at the BOK-MCC office or by telephone. An organisational meeting will be held at the CIK office (first floor): for the theatre studio, on 3 February at 16:00, and for the photography studio, on 5 February at 16:00.
At the theatre studio, the annual programme has been divided into several-month cycles, each ending with a performance. The photography programme will include: the history and theory of photography, multimedia and visual communication; photo sessions; photographic staging; thematic photography assignments; digital photo processing and photo manipulation; darkroom work; analogue, pinhole and luxography photography; fundamentals of graphic design; creating posters and visual communications (e.g. logos); multimedia classes; multimedia installations; interdisciplinary projects; exhibitions of work; outdoor photography sessions; screenings; lectures; meetings with interesting people; presentations by artists and of interesting photographic and multimedia projects.
