The document reads:

For the second time, I am requesting the urgent clearing of storm drains (street inlets) that carry rainwater from county roads to the stormwater or combined sewer system.

On 1 August 2013 (immediately after the torrential rain that occurred during the night of 30–31 July 2013), in a letter [...] we asked the Bolesławiec County Board to urgently clean the street inlets on county and provincial roads located within the city of Bolesławiec. However, so far only a small number of street inlets on county roads have been cleared, and I have also not received a response to our letter.

In total, the county roads, with a combined length of 20.6 km, contain more than 360 street inlets, of which only 87 have been cleaned over the past two years, according to the list below:

This situation does not provide effective protection, during heavy precipitation, against rainwater flooding properties located in the vicinity of county roads.

I would also like to remind you that other statutory public duties relating to the routine maintenance of roads include, in particular:

  • keeping roads clean,
  • carrying out repairs to road and pavement surfaces,
  • providing horizontal and vertical road markings as needed.

Mayor of Bolesławiec

We will return to this matter.
