Who will win?

Donald Tusk and Lech Kaczyński will face each other in the second round of the election on 23 October. Many factors may determine the outcome of the electoral runoff. It will still be important to retain existing voters and encourage them to return to the ballot boxes. Both candidates will also seek the support of voters who backed those who have already been eliminated. Some commentators on the political scene predict that Donald Tusk will be supported by the followers of Marek Borowski and Henryka Bochniarz. Lech Kaczyński, meanwhile, will have the support of voters of Maciej Giertych and Andrzej Lepper. According to other commentators, the key to victory in the second round is mobilizing the part of the electorate that did not participate in the first round.

Both Donald Tusk and Lech Kaczyński announce that the campaign ahead of the second round will focus primarily on their policy platforms. We will have the opportunity to see whether this happens in the near future.
