Eight-year-old Mateusz Herowski received an honorable mention, while eleven-year-old Wiktoria Miczko qualified for the exhibition of the 10th Nationwide Children’s Visual Arts Competition “My Homeland Is the Most Beautiful.” The works were selected by visual artists and art teachers: Doctor of Arts Zbigniew Furgaliński, Zbigniew Krzywdziak, Anna Derebisz, and Lesław Molenda.
A total of 1,252 works from 64 educational institutions were submitted to the competition. Fifteen prizes and 15 honorable mentions were awarded, and 88 works qualified for the exhibition. The competition focused thematically on the region where its participants live, as well as its traditions and customs.
The Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice provided honorary patronage over the competition. The organizers were the A. Kamiński Youth Palace in Katowice and the Children’s and Youth Leisure Association.
