The Eco-City competition was organized by the Embassy of France in Poland in cooperation with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management and Renault. “Bolesławiec was recognized both in the sustainable mobility and ecological construction categories. We modernized public transport. The purchase of new buses has made our fleet ecological and modern. The thermal modernization of a number of public utility buildings, the use of solar collectors, and the modernization of the heating system also deserve attention,” says Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman.
The award ceremony was held on September 19 at the Embassy of France in Warsaw. Participants included, among others, Minister of Foreign Trade Nicole Bricq, Ambassador Pierre Buhler, Director of the Department of Environmental Education at the Ministry of the Environment Karolina Kulicka, as well as representatives of the cities honored in the competition. Piotr Roman accepted the prestigious distinctions for Bolesławiec in two categories.
