The Bolesławiec campaign was organized in cooperation with Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Dzieci and Stowarzyszenie Młodych Demokratów. Young volunteers stood at the hypermarket throughout Friday and Saturday with a specially marked cart, collecting food.
Over the two days, approximately 5,000 leaflets were distributed encouraging hypermarket customers to buy an additional package of, for example, sugar, flour or pasta and hand it to the volunteers. People were happy to support the campaign and repeatedly added food to the basket. More than a tonne of food was collected in total. The organizers assess that the “Share a Meal” campaign in our town went quite well.
The collected food will now be given to organizations that help children in need.

I would like to sincerely thank the young people who collected food on September 16–17 as part of the nationwide “Share a Meal” campaign. Thanks to their commitment and kindness, a great deal of food was collected. Fifty-two large food packages were distributed to families with many children identified by school counselors, and community centers were supplied with foods such as corn snacks, jams, butter, canned goods, processed cheese, yogurts, juices and cookies. The remaining flour is being added to the food we distribute as part of European Union aid for the poorest residents of our town and county. We thank all the donors. This is a great help for children and their parents.
