The Bolesławiec competition for the most beautiful balcony and home garden is organized by the Towarzystwo Miłośników Bolesławca and the Mayor of the City. Residents could submit their entries starting in May. Every year, an increasing number of people take part in the competition. During the competition’s 10-year history, more than half a thousand residents have participated.
The submitted balconies and gardens will be assessed in several categories: balcony; flower garden at a single-family and multi-family residential property; and the most beautiful flower garden at commercial and service facilities. The judging takes a long time because flowers bloom at different times. The competition rules also allow prizes to be awarded to a balcony or garden that was not submitted, but which, in the opinion of the competition committee, stands out from the others.
The prizes in the competition will be vouchers for purchases at a gardening store. The first prize is a voucher worth PLN 500, while the prizes for the next places are worth PLN 300 and PLN 200. The results of the competition are scheduled to be announced in October.
