On Friday (22 March), the Polish national football team lost to Ukraine 1:3 in poor style. The U19 youth national team, in which Maciej Szewczyk, a BKS Bolesławiec academy graduate and currently an Alemannia Aachen player, appears, performed considerably better. The youth team defeated Georgia 3:1 in a friendly match. It is worth noting that their senior teammates achieved the exact opposite result at the National Stadium in Warsaw.

The match between the youth national teams of Poland and Georgia took place on Friday afternoon in Puławy. Maciek Szewczyk put in a good performance. Maciek provided the assist for Martin Kobylański’s goal. “I played for 65 minutes. I crossed the ball to Kobylański’s head and it was 1:0,” Maciek Szewczyk told the Istotne.pl website. The young footballer also said that the entire team played a good match and that their pressing contributed to the victory.

In Sunday’s match, the U19 national team defeated Georgia again. This time, the match ended 3:0 (0:0). Poland’s goals were scored by: Kamil Zieliński (52nd minute), Martin Kobylański (87th minute) and Kamil Kurowski (89th minute). Maciej Szewczyk played the first 45 minutes of the match.
