The office has been operating since today. Professor Andrzej Zoll, the serving Commissioner for Human Rights, took part in the opening ceremony. The office is located in central Wrocław at 5 Wierzbowa Street.
The Commissioner for Human Rights handles complaints concerning violations of human and civil rights and freedoms. One third of all complaints submitted to the Commissioner come from western Poland.
Dr Maciej Lis of the Department of International and European Law at the University of Wrocław is a candidate for the position of the local representative of the Commissioner for Human Rights.
